As someone with an extensive appreciation and attention for detail, Dr. Aleksic found himself at a young age fascinated by the microscopic, precise and high-tech world of ophthalmology. It is these features which drew him into the meticulous and complex world of the human eye; one where eye surgeons must work synchronously, quickly and faultlessly with their medical team on delicate and minuscule surface areas.
Dr. Zoran Aleksic is an eye surgeon and Ophthalmologist specialising in cataract and laser refractive surgery. He graduated from Belgrade Medical School in 1991. Before specialising, he was involved in provision of eye care in Pietermaritzburg (Edendale Hospital and Grey’s Hospital) in the satellite unit of the University of Natal’s Medical School. His training involved eye care provision in the post of registrar of Ophthalmology at Frere Hospital, East London. He completed his specialist training at University of Cape Town, Groote Schuur Hospital and Red Cross Children’s Hospital.
He is a member of the following associations:
